And this is what I ended up with:

If you arent into jewelry but want to learn, earrings are a great way to start. It's not a lot of investment and they are really easy to begin.
Of course I wasn't going to keep my supplies way just yet so here's another thing I made for myself. This was SUPER easy. I saw the design on my local bead store's website: http://www.lilysbeads.com and the owner of that store helped me pick out the supplies.

The beads are dyed pink jade even though it appears red in the photo. In this, the beads were just strung onto the silver beading chain and crimped into place with tiny crimp beads.
Jodi you'd be so proud of me!

Wow Deepika, that is all just gorgeous! You MIL will be so happy- congrats on your new skill!
Sounds like another hobby is in the works. ;) The pieces you've made are beautiful. Great job with the earrings and necklace.
Seriously, how do you find time for another hobby??? Love the earrings and necklace. Looks like Jodi was a good teacher. :)
Beautiful pieces! You will definitely be getting big MIL points for those earrings.
LOL! Debbie, I gave the earrings to MIL yesterday and she loved them so much that she wore them right away! I should post a photo of the earrings on her. Thanks for such nice comments you all. Emily, I don't spend a lot of time on Jewelry making. Just a few hours every now and then whenever the inspiration strikes. I am slowly developing a jewelry stash too which is NOT a good thing! Oh well...
