When I searched for Diaper bags on PatternReview, Butterick 4560 stood out with most number of good reviews. But here's the caveat, I don't think I have time.

I am leaving for India on December 12th and before that I have to sew a couple of baby sacks and finish my coat. And we're heading towards the thanksgiving weekend. First week of December is super busy for me so I don't foresee doing any sewing. But looking at the pattern, how many hours do you think this bag will take from cutting to sewing? Can/Should I do it? Or is my time better spent on searching for a RTW bag?
Be honest...

Well as wonderful as a home made present is it appears that your time is limited....so if there is a chance that it could not be completed in time I would consider buying one. There are so many beautiful RTW diaper bags available and it would definitely be an appreciated gift either way :)
No way I would attempt to make one with your time constraints. Buy locally or order online and relieve yourself of the stress! You'll have plenty of time to make him stuff later!
Ann and Meredith, thanks. I think you are right. Back to shopping online.
I agree... As much as I think it would be an awesome gift... There are sooo many cool diaper bags out there (with thermal pockets and fasteners/zippers for every baby thing you can possibly think of)!
If I "lost" my current bag, I would definitely buy a Skip*Hop bag that attaches to the stroller: http://www.skiphop.com/product/20000.html
Buy one ! In India fabric is too rampant and no one wants something that looks handmade there ! Trust me!
Hope you bought or have otherwise made peace with the number of projects and gifts to bring, because if I had your pressure and made one I would have arrived with three bags--a diaper bag in hand, and a red bag under each eye. ('Nice to see you again too, and meet my nephew. No, there were no free drinks on the flight, why do you ask? And do you mind if I sit down?' *Zonk*) LOL
