PR Weekend is coming back to New York this year just like previous years, we will have a blast! If you always wanted to go to a PR Weekend, now's your chance. We all know New York garment district is fabric mecca. And what's more fun than fabric shopping in NYC? Well its fabric shopping with friends of course.

Shopping day!
We will break into smaller groups for a guided shopping trip to the NY Garment District. A complete guide of the garment district stores will be provided to you in your booklet.

Optional Group Dinners (on your own) or meet back at the hotel and show us your favorite fabric acquisition :)
Sunday, June 4th (optional)
Plans for Sunday will be on your own but the program will include options for bunch and other things to do in New York.

About the Panel Discussion
Whether you learned to sew from a family member or you taught yourself. Maybe you've been sewing for as long as you can remember, or you are a newbie and can't get enough of it. We all have a common goal - to pass on this beautiful art of sewing to the next generation. Lets hear some thoughts on this subject from our panelists and learn what is happening in the industry to encourage more people to sew. Whether its the innovative form of teaching or technical fabrics, or perhaps some new innovations in pattern drafting. We can collectively make a difference if we try. Lets collaborate with our panelists in this thought provoking discussion. There will be time for Q&A after the panel too.
About the Travel Accessory Contest
Each year we have a friendly contest at the PR Weekend. Its completely optional of course but a lot of fun... This year we are keeping it pretty open by asking you to sew a travel accessory of your choice. It can be anything from a costmetic bag to a jacket with hidden pockets! anything goes. As long as it is sewn (sorry knitters!).
On Friday when you come back to the NY Media Center for dinner, we will have a show and tell and the judges will declare the winner! There are fun prizes of course but we won't tell you what those are.
