Love Digital Patterns but don't like taping or the hassle of bringing your PDF to the copyshop? I have great news for you. Now, when you buy digital patterns here, we can print them for you as well. You will still get a copy of the digital pattern in your account while we get the large scale print ready for you. The prints start at $4.50/pattern ($4.05 for Friends of PR).

Personally, I don't mind taping but ever since I've started printing my digital patterns as large printouts, I am realizing what a time saver it is! You know I am all about getting you to sew right? Hence this option.

One of the questions you asked is if this will be available for the digital patterns you have already bought here? If the pattern comes with a copyshop option, you can! Here's how to do it.

Go to your account and scroll to the digital downloads section. From there, find the pattern you'd like to order print for. You may need to click on the year tab to find older patterns. Once there, if the pattern has the copyshop file, you will see a button to order Large Print. Simply click on that to add to your cart and checkout! We will print these for you and ship them to you. Easy Peasy!

Buying Digital Patterns on PatternReview

When you buy a new Digital Pattern, you will see the option of adding the large print add-on to your cart on the pattern page.

I am so so excited to offer this new service to all our members and can't wait to see all the garments you will be sewing because you won't have to tape anymore!

are your patterns sent rolled or folded?

Why doesn't the free shipping after a certain amount is spent apply to these orders as well?

what size paper are the digital patterns printed on in your copyshop?

I have the opposite problem! I have plenty of paper copy patterns but want to preserve them and convert them over to digital pdfs so I can print them when needed. Any plans to offer that service?

A couple years ago, you were asked if Copy Shop services could be used for patterns [which come with a suitable option] not available from Pattern Review? at the time, you said it was being considered. Any news on that?

Hello, what weight of paper do you print the patterns on? I prefer tissue or similar lightweight paper.

Deepika replied...(2/10/22 1:03 PM ET)
Hi, we print on regular printer paper weight (20lbs) paper.

Deepika, I would like to submit a pattern to be printed on large copy, but there are 40 sizes included in the pattern! Is there a way to cut down on the number of sizes you would need to print, or can I request one size be printed?

Rima replied...(1/20/22 4:51 PM ET)
Deepika - I did not know that! Great news
Deepika replied...(1/20/22 1:39 PM ET)
Yes! When you place the order we will send you an email asking you which size range you would like us to print. Or you can specify that in the comment section. Hope this helps.

I am very disappointed in the CopyShop Print option. The pdf pattern I purchased this option for is Mave Skirt by True/Bias with 10 different size options. Th print reproduction is black and white only, and the ink is laid down very heavily. It is quite difficult to determine which line to follow for a chosen size on some pieces. I thought that choosing the CopyShop Print option would be a time-saving benefit but I was wrong. The fee for service plus shipping cost was a total waste of money in this instance and I will never choose it again. Buyer beware.

Deepika replied...(1/20/22 1:46 PM ET)
Hi, I am so sorry for the late response. We do only print in Black and white and because we don't have any control over the PDFs (they are given to us by the designers), we print at whatever density the lines are drawn. If you wish, we are happy to reprint that pattern for you. Simply email us at [email protected]

How do I order a specific size? Or are all sizes included in the large format print? I printed out a pattern in what I thought was my size and taped it together, made a muslin, and realized I need to go up a size. Feels discouraging to print and tape a second set of pattern pieces. So how does this work?

Deepika, can I use your large print service for other patterns I have not purchased thru your site? These patterns are not available to purchase on your site and I have them saved on all my devices in copyshop format? Can I upload them to the site to have them printed???? Thank you

Thanks for providing the large format printing service. I purchased a digital Cashmerette pattern from Pattern Review which comes with the copyshop file. Shouldn't the option to order prints be available with my purchase? Thanks!

Deepika replied...(9/1/17 11:22 AM ET)
Yes, it does. If you go to your account you should see the button.
Pink Diamond said...(8/31/17 1:42 PM ET)
Does the free shipping apply to printed copyshop patterns for orders over $25 (Friends of PR)? Will my pdf patterns be stored in my account where I can reprint them (US A4 copies) as many times as I like? Thanks!

Pink Diamond replied...(8/31/17 3:11 PM ET)
My apology, I just read on the shipping information page that the free shipping does NOT apply to the large format printing service.

This sounds like the best Idea since sliced bread. Can you please see if the Love Notions Whistler pull-over and hoodie Digital Pattern could be made available for this service?

Auntylilly replied...(9/2/17 11:04 AM ET)
There is no copyshop button,I was asking if you can find out if it could be added. Thank you're doing a great thing here.
Deepika replied...(8/25/17 6:34 PM ET)
If you go to the pattern page and that add to copyshop button is there then it means we can print it for you. But I'll Check on those two patterns for you next week.

This is great! A few more questions though as I have not use large scale printers before. How wide is this paper and is the thickness more like regular printer paper or the tissue found in pattern envelopes? Would love to know before I purchase. Thanks!

Deepika replied...(8/25/17 6:32 PM ET)
The paper is 36 inches wide and it's like white printer paper.

This is awesome news and a great service option! I want to share this and noticed the promotional price of $4 ($4.50 for free members) ends August 31. What will be the new price after that date? I am positive I will get that question once I share this newsand don't want to misquote anything! I will definitely use this service and I'm sure many others will too! Thank you so much for always thinking of your members!

Deepika replied...(9/1/17 2:37 PM ET)

Deepika, am late in thanking you so much for this service!! I don't mind the cutting and taping, but tend to put off buying pdf patterns so I can avoid the cut and tape. I will definitely be browsing the pattern offerings on PR and taking advantage of this. The price is amazing! Thanks again!

Great news! Thank you so much for offering this! I don't necessarily mind the cutting and taping, but find that maybe I'm not careful enough about lining things up so my patterns sometimes are wonky :)

Deepika replied...(8/22/17 3:50 PM ET)
I feel that way too. This is life changing for me :)

Deepika replied...(8/17/17 11:55 AM ET)
Thanks for responding Bonnie. Sewpelican, I dont know if it will make sense to ship these large sheets overseas as the costs would be too high. you are better off finding a printer locally. Hope this helps.
Bonnie O replied...(8/17/17 10:49 AM ET)
I'm not Deepika but the shipping options are shown in the peach color box below the subtotal and DOES include international.

Great idea BUT why no printing of Tilly & the Buttons patterns?

Deepika replied...(8/17/17 10:58 AM ET)
If the button is not there, that means it cannot be printed on large scale printers.
JOshiro said...(8/16/17 12:42 PM ET)
Best news! It costs >$10 to print locally, plus it was a hassle. Thank you for providing this service!!!

Wow!!!! Thanks for getting us this option. So much time saved! I don't mind digital, but all that printing and all that waste, and all that time. I look at it as a zen exercise, only to be less impatient about it.

I would also like to know if patterns are shipped rolled or if they will be folded (which will then need to be ironed flat before tracing). Also what type of paper will they be printed on?

Deepika replied...(8/16/17 2:21 PM ET)
They will be printed on standard roll paper. If you order 3 or more, they will ship in a tube. All others will be folded and shipped in a manila envelope to keep costs low for everyone.
SewLibra said...(8/16/17 1:01 AM ET)
Thank you for doing this Deepika! I have turned down many a pattern because I don't like using my paper, taping, and storing taped patterns. There is no copy shop conveniently located to me. This is great!

Deepika replied...(8/16/17 2:19 PM ET)
I am glad that you will get to try other patterns now.
Nannerl said...(8/15/17 11:20 PM ET)
Excellent idea! I'm not a fan of digital patterns, & it was disappointing to find so many cute patterns on Pattern Review that were only available that way. But now I can get a print version! Yea!

StitchinTam said...(8/15/17 10:51 PM ET)
Great option! I have a question--is the print shipped in a tube (rolled) or in an envelope (folded)?

Deepika replied...(8/16/17 2:18 PM ET)
It depends. We are trying to keep the costs low. 3 or more patterns will ship in a tube. All others will ship folded.

This is great! I"m so excited for this because I hate taping together patterns. I used to send my pdfs to a printer, but after moving I haven't been able to find a printer that do the job.

I sent one of my pattern pdfs and very clear explanation by e-mail to a local printing company for a cost estimate for printing large format. The response I got was this: "Thanks for the quote request but we can not make sewing patterns." Oh my goodness. Really? *slaps forehead* Thanks much for offering this service, and also for being very bright! LOL. :)
