The votes are in for the 2024 Pantone Color of the Year ContestPantone is the worlds leading predictor of color and we all love to follow what they decide is the shade to watch for in fashion, business and marketing. The 2024 Color of the Year Peach Fuzz 13-1023 is described as a "peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange." It is "poetic and romantic, a clean peach tone with a vintage vibe" which "reflects the past yet has been refashioned with a contemporary ambiance." For this contest we asked our contestants to sew a garment or outfit for any person, adult or child featuring Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz. The garment or outfit must incorporate the aforementioned color. This means accessories like scarves, detachable collars, sashes, hats etc do not count as part of the garment. They are also not eligible as stand-alone entries. See Contest Rules here.

43 members participated in this contest.  All our members of PatternReview had the opportunity to vote to decide the winner of first and second place.  And the winners are....

First Prize Winner: nancynrice in her Peach Fuzz embellished Cardigan

nancynrice used Pamela's Patterns - Versatile Twin Set to make her beautifully embellished Peach Fuzz Cardigan set with shell. What advice did nancynrice have to say about using this specific color? "I always encourage my clients and style class students to consider this color as a more flattering alternative to bright white, so I was thrilled when Pantone featured it this year. And I was excited to participate in this contest. Because the color itself is so understated, I wanted my project to include some kind of surface interest (shine, drape, texture or something)."  Read her review here.

Second Prize Winnerppprmnt8 in a Peach Fuzz, vintage style, Valentine's Day Dress.

ppprmnt8 used Butterick 5880, a 50's vintage reproduction of the Classy Dame Dress, to create a Peach Fuzz Valentine's Day Dress. This was only ppprmnt8's second dress she has made and learned ALOT, like, "I made one big mistake and sewed the skirt overlay in the opposite manner of what it called for, so I ended up turning it into a French seam. My first one - it was very bulky with this fabric! But here is the silver lining - I am now able to remember that convex curves get notches and concave curves get clips."  Read her review here.
