The May Indie Pattern Roundup maybe a small group, but it sure is mighty.  These five new patterns from PatternReview's TNT (tried n'true) Independent Pattern Designers are worth a try for your summer wardrobe.  You can find the following dresses, top and skirt in our shop.

Itch to Stitch - Amador Top

Itch to Stitch is always on their A game, giving us just what we want. This month, Kennis brings the Amador Top, which strikes a perfect balance of chic and chill. Featuring a flattering V-neckline and Dolman sleeves, this effortless style is versatile and comfortable. Start sewing in the afternoon, and you can pour yourself a glass of wine, or a cup of herbal tea, and enjoy the sunset in your comfortable Amador.

Sizes: 00 – 40

Skill Level: Beginner+

Fabric Recommendation: Use light to medium-weight knit fabric with about 50% horizontal stretch and great recovery such as athletic knit, ITY, double-brushed poly and cotton Lyrca. Do not use drapey fabric with poor recovery such as rayon spandex (unless it has a minimum of 8-10% elastane).

Format: Available as a PDF (Digital) Pattern with Copyshop Print Option

Itch to Stitch Amador is on sale for $12.60 for FoPR and $14.00 for all other members

Itch to Stitch - Taroko Skirt

There is not one, but two patterns from Itch to Stitch this month. The Taroko Skirt sewing pattern is a versatile and stylish option for those looking to create their own wardrobe staples. This A-line skirt sits at the natural waist and features a contour waistband, providing a flattering silhouette and comfort. What sets the Taroko Skirt apart is the addition of patch front pockets integrated with the princess seams, adding both practicality and visual interest to the garment. Whether made in a bold print or a classic solid, the Taroko Skirt is sure to become a go-to piece in any wardrobe.

Sizes: 00 – 40

Skill Level: Intermediate

Fabric Recommendation: Bottom-weight woven fabric with no stretch, such as denim, twill, corduroy and heavy-weight linen.

Format: Available as a PDF (Digital) Pattern with Copyshop Print Option

Itch to Stitch Taroko Skirt is on sale for $11.70 for FoPR and $13.00 for all other members

Our member La Casa Cactus has already made her Taroko Skirt.  La Casa Cactus says, "Kennis' instructions for installing a fly-front zipper are extremely detailed and walk you through each step and you're done in no time.

Named Clothing - Leini Dress

Last month it was the Lexi and this month we welcome back the Leini! Named Clothing brings back this cute little dress to loyal fans and newcomers. Leini is a sleeveless mini dress with two wide, slanted pleats running from the shoulders to the waist. It has a relaxed fit and an elasticated waistband. The armscyes and the round neckline are finished with a facing.

Sizes: EUR 32-56 | US 0-24 | UK 4-28

Skill level: Novice (Beginner)

Fabric Recommendation: Choose a light to medium weight woven fabric. Depending on the desired result, you can select a low-drape fabric, or a fabric with a little drape. However, avoid a very light or drapey fabric, as it will affect the look of the pleats.

Format: Available as a PDF (Digital) Pattern with Copyshop Print Option.

Named Leini Dress is on sale for $14.69 for FoPR and $16.33 for all other members

True Bias - Lora Dress

Sleeves or no sleeves, I don't know what version I like better. True Bias gives us the Lora pattern, an empire waist dress, with four views. All views have underbust gathers, a self-lined bodice, and twelve loop buttons along the center front. Views A and C have half-inch spaghetti straps at the shoulders while Views B and D have long puff sleeves. The dress is fitted through the waist and hips and has a straight fit through the skirt with Views A and B ending just above the knee and Views C and D hemmed a couple of inches above the ankle.

Sizes: 0-18; 14-32

Skill level: Intermediate

Fabric Recommendation: Light to medium weight woven fabric such as linen, cotton, or rayon.

Format: Available as a PDF (Digital) Pattern with Copyshop Print Option.

True Bias Lora Dress is on sale for $14.40 for FoPR and $16.00 for all other members

Grainline Studios - Austin Dress

Grainline Studios releases the perfect summer dress in true classic style. Austin is a semi-fitted sleeveless dress with armhole darts and a keyhole opening at the center front. Customize the Austin with your choice of a knee length A-line or midi-length gathered skirt and add optional patch pockets to carry snacks for you (and your furry friends!). Topstitched seams and button band closures at the side seams add both function and interest.

Sizes: 0-18 ; 14-32

Fabric Recommendation: Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as cotton poplin, chambray, denim, linen, linen blends, rayon, and rayon blends. Extra fabric may be needed to match plaids, stripes, or one-way print designs.

Format: Available as a Paper Pattern and a PDF (Digital) Pattern with Copyshop Print Option.

Grainline Studios Austin Dress is on sale for $16.20 for FoPR and $18.00 for all other members

Itch to stitch has two new patterns. There is no mention of Love notions in this round up.

That is the point. Why not include other Indies instead of highlighting two patterns from one company? It doesn't have to be Love Notions. Fill in the blank with any of the many other Indies out there.
