Voting for the Bags and Wallets Contest is now underway.  Handbags and Wallets are a staples in our lives. This contest offered members to sew a carryall that is a fashion statement or a functional workhorse.  We had bag contests in the past, but for this one we asked our members to, make a handbag / purse / pocketbook or wallet. Any style is allowed: handled, cross-body, shoulder, clutch, messenger bag, backpack, trifold wallet, etc. Wallets or purses using frames are eligible. Closures (e.g. zippers, purse hardware. buttons, clasp frames, etc) are optional. What is not included in this contest: luggage and wheeled bags. Your handbag needs to be "carry-on" size or smaller.  See more Contest Rules here.

34 members participated in this contest.  Each of the contestants had a month between February 15th and March 15th, 2023 to create a Bag or Wallet.  Click collage to vote for up to 5 entries.

The First Place will be decided by member votes and the Second Place by random draw.

First Place will receive a $100 Gift Certificate to Emmalinebags.com, our sponsor for this contest.

Second Place will receive a $50 Gift Certificate to Emmalinebags.com

We would like to send out a special "Thank You" to MsIngie for managing this contest.

Remember, voting for the Bags and Wallets Contest closes on March 28th. Happy voting!

I agree with On the Bias - I feel there should be two categories: Simple and Complex so we can vote on bags that are comparable in terms of construction.

This was hard to vote for. Most of the bags were nice, but I felt I had to give the edge to the more technically challenging ones. If this contest is held again, perhaps there could be two categories: Simple and Complex.
