The votes are in for the 2023 Jumpsuit Contest For this contest, we asked our members to sew a jumpsuit, defined as a one-piece garment consisting of a top (blouse or shirt) and a bottom (trousers or pants) that are permanently attached together. The top may be sleeved or sleeveless and the bottom may be short, full, cropped, or ankle length. Overalls or dungarees, which are a one-piece garment with suspenders attached in front panel and can be worn over another top, and Faux-jumpsuits were not allowed. See more Contest Rules here.

27 members participated in this contest.  All our members of PatternReview had the opportunity to vote to decide the winner of first and second place.  And the winners are....

First Prize Winner: chrizzie21 in mock wrap indigo jumpsuit

chrizzie21 used Rachel Comey's Vogue Patterns 1645 to make her really cool jumpsuit.  How did chrizzie21 sum up her experience, "A very unique jumpsuit, sewn for my first ever PR contest! I'm happy with the finished product despite some issues with fit and then feeling like Sisyphus doing never-ending binding and then ripping it all out."

Congratulations chrizzie21, your fitting woes were worth it for your dynamic fit!

Second Prize Winnerarubalass in her wide-legged jumpsuit

arubalass used an OOP Vogue Pattern to create her stylish yet comfortably casual jumpsuit.  What did arubalass have to say about the process, "This jumpsuit was not without drama; firstly, I sewed the wrong side of the jumpsuit left front to the back side of the right side of left back, so my dart on the front was just out there. I wanted to leave as is, but the perfectionism in me could not let that go."

arubalass, beautiful work and perseverance on creating a winning jumpsuit!

Congratulations to all that entered the 2023 Jumpsuit Contest.  Check out all our participants dresses in the Photo Gallery. If you would like to follow the participant chat on the message board, check it out here.

Your jumpsuits are very flattering, and you both captured your individual styles through the choices made. Well done.

These are both fantastic. I laughed to read about Arubalass sewing things in the wrong place and having a dart just hanging out. I'm glad someone other than myself does the same kind of thing.
