The winners of the 2022-23 Pants Contest have been selected. Pants, we all wear them but they are so hard to find the perfect fit. The quest to find the perfect fitting pants is real. For this contest we asked our members to make a pair of pants (trousers) for yourself or someone else. Any full-length two-legged pants style qualifies, but leggings, jeggings (leggings styled like jeans) and pull on pants did not qualify for this contest. See Contest Rules here.
14 members participated in this contest. All our members of PatternReview had the opportunity to vote to decide the winner of first and second place. And the winners are....
First Prize Winner: mcstitches in her zebra print Palazzo Pants
mcstitches made these voluminous Liberty Fabrics - Palazzo Suit Pants pattern from some jacquard in her stash. This is what she had to say, "I cut the pants on the cross-grain - it was the only way I was able to cut this style from the 2 yards of fabric I had. I think it worked out well with the direction of the zebra print." It worked wonders, mcstitches. See her review here.
Second Prize Winner: dianelwilson with a pair of retro corduroys for her son.
dianelwilson used an OOP Kwik Sew Pants patterns from the 1970's to make these groovy burgundy corduroys for her son. dianelwilson had to say, "If you can get your hands on this pattern, it's great for the person who loves that 70s flared look!" They came out great with a spot on fit. See her review here
