The winners of the 2023 Print Mixing Contest have been selected. For this contest we asked our members to make a garment (or outfit) that uses at least 2 fabrics with different prints or patterns.
Examples of fabrics that qualified: a print stamped on the surface; a design woven into it such as a plaid.
Examples of fabrics that did NOT qualify: Solid colors; warp and weft of different colors (as is often seen in silk dupioni) but with no pattern.  No specific quantity of each print was required, but at least two different prints must be easily visible on the exterior of the entry. Solid color fabrics may also be used as long as the prints are the focus. See Contest Rules here.

56 members participated in this contest.  All our members of PatternReview had the opportunity to vote to decide the winner of first and second place.  And the winners are....

First Prize Winner: nancynrice in her multi-paneled, mixed printed jean jacket

nancynrice made her impressive and casual, StyleArc Stacie Jean Jacket, with metallic floral print and geometric brocades, as well as glazed metalic linen. This is what she had to say, "I love, love, love the styling. I had been wanting to do some sort of casual jacket with this group of fabrics, and I think this was the ideal choice."  We all agree that we would LOVE a similar jacket in our own wardrobe, thank you for the inspiration! See her review here.

Second Prize WinnerFlabeth in her colorblocked Pullover

Flabeth made her cowl necked Sinclair Patterns Lotte Hoodie, using five different mixed fabrics including:  Charcoal/white organic cotton french terry, “waves” with large Koi, Light Green/Turquoise cotton Lycra, Orange/Cantelope cotton Lycra, White Rayon Lycra and Charcoal/Off White Stripe double knit 100% cotton.  This is what she had to say, "This special koi fabric has been ‘swimming’ in my stash for a long time but never quite landed on the right project." Your Kio looks at home on your fabulous new pullover! See her review here.
