The winners of the 2023 Warm and Cozy Contest have been selected. Who doesn't love a garment that feels as cozy as a blanket. Heck - who doesn't love to be wrapped up in a blanket, with warm slippers and an oversized sweatshirt or favorite pair of pajamas, sipping hot chocolate and reading the latest bestseller?! For this contest we asked our members to sew something that is warm and cozy to wear or use around the living space. The items has to be sewn, no knitted or crocheted items are eligible for this contest. Examples may include - socks, slippers, shawl, pj’s, sweater, pullover, leggings, onesie, loungewear, blankets....and the list goes on. See more Contest Rules here.
22 members participated in this contest. All our members of PatternReview had the opportunity to vote to decide the First Place Winner. The Second Place winner was a random draw by PatternReview. And the winners are....
First Prize Winner: indigo_sue in her warm and cozy Lumberjack Flannel
indigo_sue really thought out the construction of her flannel jacket, using Thread Theory Fairfield Button-up to make it as cozy and warm as possible. This is what she had to say, "I think of it as my "luxe-mberjacket"! It's really comfy to wear with nothing underneath, with that brushed side inward and the satin yoke." Congratulations and we can't help but fall in love with your flannel for the cold weather! See her review here.
Second Prize Winner (Random): Kayseri in her colorblocked wool waistcoast
Kayseri used her TNT OOP Kwik Sew waistcoat pattern and some ingenuity to make this fabulous wrap around, color blocked wool vest. Kayseri admits, "The patterned blue was a wool scarf that I loved and used for a couple of winters, but it was too wide/substantial to wear abound my neck and too narrow to use as a shawl." Your vest reminds me of a nice warm hug which is perfect for this contest! See Kayseri's review here
